Retour Amont is a reflection on the past months, on our past work, on what is essential, and on possible futures. We want to create a dialogue about what it is to be together.
A soft and slow wrestle with fear and uncertainty. A resistance to violence. A curiosity about the other. A physical dialogue with the unknown, which is the only possibility we have left.
The idea for this piece originated this spring during the lockdown. As a consequence of the pandemic, we have had to reschedule the premiere of a new piece, Le Rêve d’Io. At the same time, it seemed essential to keep finding meaningful ways to connect with our audience.
We haven’t been on stage ourselves for more than five years. To perform again after years behind the scenes is highly symbolic for us in these times, not just because of the months of forced isolation. Retour Amont is a reflection on the past months, on our past work, on what is essential, and on possible futures. We want to create a dialogue about what it is to be together.
